Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Pushi, whether you're competing with friends or running organisation challenges.
App Basics
Is the Pushi app free?
Yes. The Pushi app is free to download on the App Store. Anyone can create or join challenges at no cost.
What devices work with Pushi?
Any device that syncs to Apple Health works with Pushi — including Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Wahoo, Oura Ring, and many others. You need an iPhone with the Pushi app installed.
How does Pushi read my health data?
Pushi integrates with Apple Health. Your wearable device syncs data to Apple Health, and Pushi reads from there. You're always in control — you can revoke Pushi's access anytime through Apple Health settings.
Is my health data private?
Yes. Your data stays private until you join a challenge. Only activity relevant to the challenge (steps, calories, distance) is shared with other participants. Users can revoke Pushi's access anytime.
Can I manually log activity?
In Private challenges, if your device stops syncing or you don't have one, you can manually log activity in the app as a workaround. It will be flagged as a manual challenge.
Creating Challenges
What is a challenge?
A challenge is a fitness competition. You set the dates, daily activity target, scoring rules, and who can participate. Participants compete to hit their daily goals and climb the leaderboard.
How do I create a challenge?
Open the Pushi app, tap "Create a challenge," and fill in the details: name, dates, daily target (steps or calories), rest day policy, and scoring method. You can start the next day or schedule for later.
What scoring methods are available?
You can score by total activity (cumulative steps/calories) or by days completed (how many days participants hit their target). Choose the method that best fits your challenge.
Can I set custom daily targets?
Yes. You choose different daily targets depending on the challenge type. Make it challenging but achievable for your group.
How long can a challenge last?
Challenges can run from a single day up to 31 days. You choose the start and end dates.
Can I edit a challenge after it starts?
Challenge settings like dates and daily targets are locked once participants join, to keep the competition fair.
Joining Challenges
How do I join a challenge?
In the Pushi app, the challenge creator can invite any of their friends to join. Challenge invites must be sent and accepted before the challenge has started.
For organisations, users must already be part of the organisation, and then tap "Join a challenge" in the Challenges menu. Enter the join code or scan a QR code to join.
Can I join multiple challenges?
Yes. You can join as many challenges as you want and compete in all of them simultaneously.
Can I leave a challenge?
No. Once you join a challenge, you cannot leave it. Your current progress will be recorded.
Rest Days & Targets
How do rest days work?
When creating a challenge, you set a rest-day allowance — how many days participants can skip without penalty. Participants can use these strategically to balance their schedule. Some challenges also have "scheduled rest days" where everyone rests together.
What if I miss a day?
If you miss your daily target without a rest day available, your score is affected based on the scoring method. If you have rest days left, you can use one to skip the day without penalty. Rest days are not retroactive.
Can I change my rest days during the challenge?
Rest days are part of the challenge rules set by the creator. Your personal rest-day allowance is fixed, but you decide when to use them.
Leaderboards & Results
How do leaderboards work?
Leaderboards show participant rankings based on your scoring method (total activity or days completed). They update daily as participants log activity. Ties are broken by the earliest timestamp.
Can participants see the leaderboard?
Yes. Participants can view the full leaderboard and see how they stack up against their peers. This encourages engagement and friendly competition.
How do I get results after a challenge ends?
The leaderboard remains visible in the portal after the challenge ends. You can review final standings, export data, and share results with your team.
Can I hide some participants' names or results?
Leaderboards show all participants by default. If you just want to see your friends, press the Friends toggle.

The first challenge is free for up to 20 people, so you can evaluate the platform and make sure it works for your organisation.
How do I invite my team to join?

The users should then download and sign up to Pushi, from there they can join the organisation with thier email address. You can also organize members into segments (departments, teams, locations) for targeted challenges.
Can I run multiple challenges at once?
Yes. You can have as many active challenges running simultaneously as you like. Members can join all eligible challenges.
How do I monitor challenge progress?
The admin portal shows real-time leaderboards, participant activity, and engagement metrics. You can track progress throughout the challenge.
What are segments and why should I use them?
Segments let you organize members by department, location, team, or any other dimension. You can then create challenges for specific segments, run company-wide competitions with separate department leaderboards, or target wellness programs. See the Portal guide for setup details.
