Apple Health Setup
Pushi reads from Apple Health, so your watch's own app has to write to Health. One-time setup, about two minutes.
Garmin
Garmin Connect writes to Apple Health once you switch it on in the app's settings. After that, every sync from your watch lands in Health automatically.
Turn on Apple Health in Garmin Connect
Open the Garmin Connect app, go to its settings and turn on Apple Health. Garmin's guide shows exactly where the switch is in the current version of the app: Syncing Garmin Connect with Apple Health.
Allow everything when iPhone asks
iOS then asks which categories Garmin Connect may write to Health. Choose Turn On All so steps, distance, calories, exercise minutes and workouts all come through.
Sync your watch and check Health
Sync your Garmin in the app, then open the Health app and look at Browse → Activity → Steps. Garmin Connect should be listed under Data Sources & Access. Pushi picks the data up the next time you open it.
Fitbit & Pixel Watch
Fitbit trackers and the Google Pixel Watch sync through the Google Health app. It can share your activity with Apple Health once you turn that on.
Turn on Apple Health sharing in Google Health
Open the Google Health app, go to its settings and turn on sharing with Apple Health. Google's guide has the current steps: Share Google Health data with Apple Health.
Allow everything when iPhone asks
Choose Turn On All when iOS asks which categories the app may write, so steps, distance, calories, exercise minutes and workouts all reach Health.
Sync your watch and check Health
Let the watch sync, then open the Health app and look at Browse → Activity → Steps. The Google Health app should be listed under Data Sources & Access. Pushi picks the data up the next time you open it.
Huawei
Huawei Health asks for permission to write to Apple Health while you set it up. Allow it and you're done; if you said no at the time, you can turn it on afterwards.
Allow Apple Health when Huawei Health asks
During setup, Huawei Health asks to write your activity to Apple Health. Choose Turn On All.
Said no at the time? Turn it on in Settings
Open the iPhone Settings app and go to Health → Data Access & Devices → Huawei Health, then turn on the categories. Steps, distance, calories, exercise minutes and workouts are the ones Pushi uses.
Sync your watch and check Health
Sync the watch in Huawei Health, then open the Health app and look at Browse → Activity → Steps. Huawei Health should be listed under Data Sources & Access. Pushi picks the data up the next time you open it.
Other watches and apps
The pattern is the same for every brand: find Apple Health in the watch app's settings, turn it on, and choose Turn On All when iPhone asks. These brands publish their own guide:
- Xiaomi (Mi Fitness app) — Xiaomi's guide
- Amazfit (Zepp app) — turn on Apple Health in the app's settings
- Oura — Oura's guide
- WHOOP — WHOOP's guide
- Polar — Polar's guide
- COROS — COROS's guide
- Withings — Withings' guide
- Strava — allow Strava to write to Apple Health in Strava's own settings. A Strava run adds distance and calories, but not steps.
Apple Watch needs none of this: it writes to Health on its own. If an app has no Apple Health option at all, see troubleshooting in the FAQ for the alternatives.
Troubleshooting
My activity is in Apple Health, but not in Pushi
Open Pushi; it reads Apple Health on launch and re-checks recent days. If something is still missing, check that Pushi is allowed to read it under Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Pushi.
My watch's activity isn't in Apple Health
Your watch has to sync to its own app first, and that app has to be allowed to write to Health. Open the watch app and sync, then check Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices on your iPhone: the watch app should be listed with its categories turned on. If it isn't listed at all, go back to the steps above for your brand.
Still stuck?
Email support@pushi.fitness with your watch model and the name of its app, and we'll take a look.
